Large Medieval Pitcher for Wine, Mead & Feast Serving
This large handmade medieval pitcher is built for sharing. With a generous 2.1 L / 71 oz capacity, it holds enough mead, wine, or beer to treat a whole table of friends on a warm evening by the fire. A hand-carved floral ornament runs around the shoulder, giving it an authentic old-world character that a plain vessel simply can't match.
The pitcher is made from natural red clay earthenware, traditionally high-fired, then milk-coated and fired again — an old historical method that strengthens the surface and gives the pottery its warm, earthy tone. The piece is left unglazed, so the natural texture of the clay stays visible and true to period.
Its size and shape make it ideal for historical reenactment camps, medieval feasts, tavern setups, LARP events, Renaissance fairs, and rustic interiors. Use it to serve wine, mead, spirits, or tasting portions in genuine medieval style — as a functional centerpiece rather than mere drinkware.
Each jug is handcrafted from red clay, so no two are exactly alike. Small variations in shape, color, and texture are natural and are the mark of true handmade work. It also makes a memorable gift for lovers of medieval culture, fantasy worlds, and one-of-a-kind pottery.
