The metal shield boss is completely ready for installation. Has 6 pre-drilled holes and comes complete with nails for installation.

Note that these metal shield bosses really have a blue tint. This is an ancient blueing technique. When heated, the metal changes color according to the heating temperature. Bluing protects the metal from rusting. Each metal shield boss reacts to heating differently, so each shield boss has its own shade of blue, sometimes shield boss has a color gradient.
